Summits and IFB Events
IFB holds Educational Summits twice
a year in Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver plus, from time to time
we hold other smaller CE events in other locations such as London,
Ontario. These one and two day events allow members and other financial
professionals to earn CE credits at high quality, low cost events,
while also providing valuable networking opportunities.

The CIFP Registered Retirement Consultant
Program will equip advisors with the comprehensive knowledge they
need to discuss retirement concepts and strategies with their clients.
Upon completion of this course, the advisor will earn the licence
to use the prestigious Registered Retirement Consultant-RRC titles.

Courses leading to the Certified
Financial Planner (CFP) designation
Through a partnership with the Canadian
Institute Financial Planning CIFP), IFB members can take CFP courses,
and work toward the CFP designation at preferred IFB member
rates! In order to take advantage of these special prices,
send a message to IFB indicating that you would like to enrol
in a CFP course. Once your
membership is verified, you will receive instructions on how to
complete your application online.
Please note : CIFP
does not award the CFP and Certified Financial Planner™
designation. The right to use the mark CFP and the Certified
Financial Planner designation is granted under license by
FPSC to those persons who have met its educational standards, passed
the FPSC exam, satisfied a work experience requirement, and agreed
to abide by FPSC Code of Ethics.

IFB has partnered with the IFSE Institute
to provide mutual fund courses to IFB members at a discount. You
can choose from the following:

Other Education for Financial
Professionals:
There are a range of alternative
programs for you to upgrade your knowledge of the businesses of
Life Insurance, Accident & Sickness Insurance, and Investments,
and at the same time gain credits for continuing your education.
Information for each of the formal
training programs is listed in its respective web-site and programs
are administered by their respective provider. As such, any inquiries
should be directed to the provider of the program as they are not
affiliated with IFB.
Life Office Management Association
(LOMA)
In addition to the online CE courses
noted above, LOMA also offers courses covering the full range of
life insurance company activities. LOMA’s principal designation
is Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI). There are a variety
of other designations related to technical fields and distribution
services available from partial completion of the FLMI or specialist
programs.
IFB confers the designation Chartered
Financial Services Broker (CFSB) on those successfully completing
the FLMI program, provided Underwriting is one of the optional courses
you complete.

International Foundation
of Employee Benefit Plans
By completing the program provided
by IFEBP in Group Insurance and Retirement Plans, you will be awarded
the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation (CEBS). Partial
completion of this program in specified courses will win you a Certificate
of Achievement in Group Benefits or Retirement Plans. There are
also programs designed to train agency employees in office procedures
and in dealing with clients.

a well-established and respected name in life insurance continuing
education, to offer online education for members. IFB members and
their employees can choose from a number of LOMA courses to earn
CE credit in order to meet their life license education requirements!
